Frans – Netherlands

La Vieille Dame:
In September 2002 I bought this Peugeot 203C, model year 1956, from my sister who had bought this car in France for her home in Saint Rémy de Provence, department 13 Bouche du Rhone, where the car was also used. It was first registered on 31-10-1956 and the original color of the car was Bleu 502. This car was already painted in France in the colors black / gold. The color gold comes from Rolls-Royce and, in combination with the black and the many Robri accessories, gives the car a chic look.

After a thorough and necessary restoration of subcutaneous sheet metal and mechanics, carried out by myself, the car was inspected by the RDW in 2011 and put on a Dutch registration. I use the 203, which I affectionately call “La Vieille Dame”, every day except winter and have already made several trips to France with her.

About me:
In 1971 I bought a Peugeot 203 Familiale, which I sold again in 1974. In 1990 I bought a Peugeot 203C Berline from 1957 with a sliding roof, which I sold again in 1996 after an extensive restoration. Funnily enough, a friend of mine was able to buy exactly this car recently and so brought it back to me. So “La Vieille Dame” is my third Peugeot 203, again a Berline model C, but now without a sliding roof.

From an early age I have been a fan of the Peugeot brand and from 1969 to 1974 I worked as the 1st mechanic at Peugeot dealer Jan van der Pouw in Weesp. In addition to model 203, I have been able to drive many other models of the Peugeot brand.

The repair and maintenance of classic Peugeot’s has always been my interest and I am still enthusiastic about it every day. After my retirement I became active at the Association Peugeot Hollande (APH) as a member of the warehouse team and since the beginning of 2020 as a warehouse coordinator. In September 2020 I also joined the board of the APH.
